Beautifully expressed, you are a true artist.
Thank you đ
“So are we in for more changes of getting back the golden days of 30 years again or are we expecting change in our political environment in the near future 2011 specially from the Buddhajibi’s and the Politically motivated Intellectuals and if not then the citizen’s are just going to accept the state to RIP”….the new generations to decide as they too are getting used to the laid back life here in our state in all walks of life!!
Your view’s are well depicted Priyashmita….for all of us to share the state of affairs and if the worst is still over or yet to come?
Well if you have ever seen “Friends” there is a dialogue by rachel where she says ” there is shit, and then there is more shit and then there is me”….west bengal is in the more shit stage now….i dread the day when more will come and unless we change things for the better fast I really don’t know what will happen
That is a smart one…good going Priya, enjoyed it đ
Thank you very much đ
yes I agree …even Bihar is showing definite signs of all round improvement ,..shows what a “caring” govt can achieve in so short a time, while we continue to revel in in our mediocrity , we are on a downward spiral on almost all fronts arts , culture, education even football in Cal is seeing it’s worst season ever East Bengal has not won a single game in last 13 games …”what Bengal thinks today …” is as much hoax as joke .Are we allowed pity ourselves or is it what we deserve ?…over to you Priyashmita
I have stopped thinking…to me it just pains to think this….or as ishani states its like watching a ramsay movies
Priyashmita,

Mahesh
Well since not getting any offers except you guys stating this..guess will be restricted to this đ
Hey that was a good one, the actual problem for the people is not the enemy across, the real enemy of the people in WB are the politicians. How truly it has been said in sanskrit “Vinash Kalin, Viprit Buddhi” which means, ‘Na khud karo, na doosro ko karne do!’
well nilesh that goes for entire india…when will we realise our enemy is within
and thanks for the compliment đ
Amazing Priyashmita…thank God there are still ppl like you who have an objective perspective n are not rabbling fanatical idiots….great stuff…keep it comin..
Thank you. Keep the compliments coming too đ
A very creative expression, no doubt!
Your story begins from 2006. I will share my experience pre-2006.
I am a hard-core Bengali who swears by Calcutta (now officially Kolkata) and everything that belongs to Kolkata. Due to Poilitical and/or economic reasons, during my formative years after college, Kolkata did not have too many options for a ordinary graduate. After fiddling with various full-time/ part-time semi-paid/ unpaid jobs/ assignments, finally I had no other option but to move out of Kolkata. Though I had set my target for North India, actually landed up in one of the many metros of South India. My life took a sea-change. I realised, I could chanelise my abilities fully and can get my rewards appropriately. It was not just money, it was the fact that my abilities are getting recognised and I do not possess a professional degree!
After staying out of Kolkata for good many years,I decided to return to Kolkata. Like many homing pigeons of my time, I could come back to my beloved city without much difficulty in 2005. And, I came back with a role of my choice and at an organisation of my choice. I was happy. I thought that this is where I belong. I still think that way.
But sitting at the last quarter of 2010, the situation is making me think that what is happening to this lovely state of mine. My thoughts went back 20 years back, when we had impressionable minds. I realised, what is happening today is a culmination of what had started probably then. Or may be the culmination will take place in another few years to come. But definitely, it is the beginning. There is a sense of uneasiness everywhere. Chaos is all across.
Not a good sign though and no one knows where the state is heading. An optimist like me always believes that there is light at the end of the tunnel. But not as of now. People around are feeling mentally disturbed. Opportunities are no longer visible as clearly as before. (Surprisingly, I heard that many non-resident Biharis are coming back to their home. Some high-nosed snob individuals originating from Bengal, although have problems of accepting such phenomenon). People from Bengal/ Kolkata are again looking Westward (Northward). This reminds me of Prof Calculus, who pendulum always used to point towards west.
I chanced upon your space and was impressed by your way of expression. Quite an interesting way of communicating your thoughts. Hope to see many more in future.
Well thank you :). I just love compliments đ
And well I too am still madly in love with my Calcutta. Our story is slightly different. You came back in 2005 and I left Calcutta in 2005 cause had no further opportunity to grow but even then was very proud of my city and always told all in this South Indian Metro that my calcutta is way above them. But today’s Calcutta is sadly nothing but a dream which never came true. Didi for me is too eccentric to run a state and the tragedy of CPM today is that a few years back didi was an alternative to CPM..today CPM is an alternative to Didi…guess nothing could nothing could be worse for them
But then if Bihar can change why not west bengal…so lets all live in hope
